Flowering Tip with LED Grow Lights

LED grow lamps are able to produce all of their light in the photosynthetic action radiation (PAR) range which includes the necessary wavelengths for the plant flowering phase. The 660nm red is the key to flowering success. This is the main wavelength that allows plants to flower.
HPS bulbs give off a very bright yellow-orange light which contains the 660nm red wavelengths and this is why indoor growers using HID systems switch from metal halide to high pressure sodium when it comes time for flowering. The problem with the HPS is the wasted energy in the form of bright yellow light and heat.
LED Grow Lights are formulated for vegetative growth and flowering. The 600 watt grow light provides adequate coverage for 25 square feet of grow space. This means that this LED grow light will adequately grow and flower plants in this grow area. However, it is recommended that you increase 660nm exposure by adding a 90 watt LED Grow Light All UFO when you get to flowering to maximize your yield. Just like adding nutrients, adding the Red LED UFO grow light to the final phase of your growth cycle will help boost the size of your buds.
